Blood
Blood stains on most surfaces should be immediately treated with cool water only. Rinse carpet immediately with cool water. Then spray with straight hydrogen peroxide. (Date your peroxide and never let it get older than 6 months.)Wait 30 to 45 seconds and blot with vinegar and water. Repeat if necessary. As the blood releases from the carpet fibers it will begin seeping deeper into the carpet. Blot continuously.
Clothing: flush immediately with cool water. Then soak in cool water for 5 minutes. Rinse and spray on hydrogen peroxide if needed. If the garment has gone through the dryer: soak the stain in straight hydrogen peroxide. Rinse with a vinegar and water solution and again in cool water. Air dry. Always test a spot first for color fastness.
